Around 0:04, Kallaway introduces the setup after the opening hook. Around 0:10, the diagram begins alternating body sections and renewed hooks; around 0:17, it reaches the closing action. I checked the transcript and representative frames, including the completed script diagram. The performance claims later in the reel are the creator's self-report.
A transition should follow an answer
For a hypothetical AndyMental explainer, suppose the opening promises to show why a cheaper model made one workflow more expensive. The first section should establish the mechanism: it required more attempts to produce an accepted result. That is a useful answer even if the viewer leaves there.
Only then would I introduce the next question: whether the extra attempts came from model mistakes or from the surrounding workflow. The second section can show the distinction and explain the measurement needed to separate them. The renewed hook now follows progress instead of postponing it.
I would reject a transition that merely says the surprising part is still coming. Repeating that move can stretch a small finding across a longer video without making it more useful. The viewer keeps paying attention while the creator keeps refinancing the same promise.
The practical editing test is to pause at each transition and write down what the viewer now knows that they did not know before. If the answer is only that the next section will be exciting, move evidence forward or remove the transition.
Make the closing action fit the lesson
In that model-cost example, the closing action could be to count attempts per accepted task in one existing workflow. It follows directly from the explanation and gives the viewer a way to check whether the issue matters to them. An unrelated request to download a generic prompt pack would weaken the connection.
This is a proposed script exercise, not an audience experiment or a claim that I have reproduced Kallaway's results. Retention data can help evaluate the finished video, but it cannot by itself tell whether people learned the intended distinction. I would pair it with a simple comprehension check.
The structure is worth borrowing because it makes pacing inspectable. Its value depends on what fills those sections. A technical explainer can renew curiosity several times while still giving away useful answers along the way.
